Hon. Minister Inspects Progress of the Massive 55-Foot Vessel Built by Ceynor for Mauritius

Taking Sri Lankan identity and technical expertise to the global stage, the Hon. Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Mr. Ramalingam Chandrasekar, paid a special field visit to the Mattakkuliya Boatyard on May 21, 2026, to inspect the final-stage progress of the massive 55-foot vessel being manufactured for Mauritius by the Ceynor Foundation, operating under the Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources.
Through this exceptional project, Ceynor has successfully created a new milestone in the local boat-building industry. The Hon. Minister highly appreciated the vessel’s finishing standards and overall quality. Speaking at the event, Hon. Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar further emphasized that:

🔹 Advanced technologies from developed nations such as Norway and Japan will be introduced to the Ceynor Foundation in the future.
🔹 Plans are underway to enhance Ceynor’s vessel production capacity in the coming years.
🔹 One of the Ministry’s primary objectives is to strengthen national export revenue by transforming Ceynor into a world-class international dockyard.

In addition to uplifting the local fisheries industry, Ceynor’s successful completion of international orders and contribution toward earning foreign exchange for the country is a matter of great pride for all Sri Lankans. Image Gallery
